If attorneys for the parties are involved, all fees are payable by the attorneys.
Each party is required to pay a $100 deposit at the time of scheduling, which will be applied to the total cost.
The hourly fee is $200/hour with a minimum of 4 hours on the day of mediation. Mediations typically last from a half day to a full day (8 hours). There will be a meal break during full day sessions. This time is not billed.
The Mediator will be in communication with each party prior to the day of mediation to learn the issues and positions, and learn about the parties involved. This will be done by written submission from each side, telephone and email and will be billed based upon the combined time of all parties. The total mediator time involved prior to the mediation is generally in the two to three hour range.
The total fee for the mediation will be evenly split between all parties and will not be influenced by who talks the loudest or longest.
In addition to the initial deposit, a further deposit of $500 will be required at least 3 days prior to the day of mediation, which will be applied to the total fee.
If additional time is needed beyond one full day, it will be billed at the rate of $150/hr.
Weekends are available for mediation at no extra cost.
If one or more attorneys are involved and two conference rooms are made available in his or her office, there will be no facility charge. If the mediator needs to retain conference rooms, they will be charged at cost.
Cancellation fees are paid by the party or parties canceling. If the mediation is canceled at least 10 calendar days in advance, all payments will be refunded. If mediation is canceled 4 -9 calendar days in advance, there is a total charge of $300. Mediations canceled 0 -3 days in advance will incur a total charge of $500. Mediations may be rescheduled once for any reason with no cost.
A new mediation scheduled within 3 months of a canceled mediation will receive a credit of 100% of any cancellation fees paid, but this accommodation can only be used once.
